► Overview 📝

Gemini was established in 2015 and is based in New York. It was founded by the Winklevoss twins

They are one of the best known “fiat gateway” exchanges next to Coinbase.

Gemini is available in 45 US states as well as a few other countries including Canada, the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

They are also registered as a New York State limited liability trust which means that users have FDIC protection on USD based accounts.

On the crypto side, they make use of cold storage for the bulk of their coin reserves.

Coin coverage is rather limited and they have Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum and ZCash.

There are two different fees options. These are the web fees as well as the ActiveTrader fees. The ActiveTrader fees are about 0.10% – 0.35%.

There are no fees for funding / withdrawal and these are pretty easy to do.

There are two trading platforms on Gemini and these are the simple Web Trader as well as the ActiveTrader for more advanced traders.

There is also a mobile app as well as an API for the developers out there.

Customer support is reasonable although there have been complaints in the past about the slow service that some traders have got.
