The Price of TONCOIN Has Risen Sharply Amid Pavel Durov’s New Ideas About The Auction of Usernames

Pavel DUROV, founder of the instant messaging app Telegram, has come up with a new idea that involves creating a marketplace to auction reserved and special channel usernames.

Durov's idea for Telegram's username auction was inspired by the recent open network (TON) public auction in which the network successfully sold special domain/wallet names. The network sold the wallet.ton username for almost 215,250 TON ($260,000), according to the official announcement.

In his Telegram post, Durov also added that he was extremely impressed with the scalability and speed of TON, which allowed the token to gain some serious price momentum. At the time of writing, according to Coinmarketcap, the TON token is trading at $1.33, with an increase of 17.12% over the past 24 hours.
